Industry 01 / 11 · Construction
Quiet, clean power for every phase of the build.
Mobile battery storage that runs tower cranes, welfare cabins and site plant without a generator running all night. It moves with the programme, from groundworks to handover.

- Up to 90%less generator runtime on a hybrid site
- < 1 dayfrom delivery to first power
- 24/7remote monitoring over 4G
Overview
Construction runs on temporary power. Most of it is wasted.
A typical site generator is sized for the crane’s peak but spends most of the day idling at a fraction of its rating, burning fuel and running up maintenance hours. At night it runs again just to keep welfare cabins, lighting and security cameras alive.
EMS storage takes the steady load and absorbs the peaks. The generator, if you keep one at all, runs briefly at its most efficient point to top the battery up, or not at all once a grid connection is in place.
-
01Generators oversized for crane peaks and idling the rest of the day
Battery absorbs crane and hoist peaks, so a smaller supply covers the site
-
02Noise and fumes restrict night work and upset neighbours
Silent, zero-emission operation for welfare, lighting and security overnight
-
03Waiting months for a permanent site supply
Plug-and-play units on site in a day, charged from any available source
-
04Fuel deliveries, theft and refuelling labour
Remote state-of-charge alerts and far fewer fuel runs
EMS Energy Intelligence
Storage that thinks ahead.
Smart energy management that learns how your construction site uses power and plans every kilowatt ahead of the peak.
- Load forecasting
- Smart dispatch
- Predictive health
- Fleet-wide visibility
- Crane lift window forecast 07:00–10:00. Battery pre-charged to 95% by 06:30.
- Overnight load is 12% of peak. Generator held off for 13 hours.
Applications
Where EMS works in construction.
Replaces noisy temporary diesel generators with high-capacity hybrid battery storage, delivering continuous power for tower cranes, welfare units, and heavy plant without altering site workflows.
-
01
Tower cranes & hoists
High peak, low average loads handled by the battery so the supply can be right-sized.
-
02
Welfare & site cabins
Heating, lighting and drying rooms powered silently around the clock.
-
03
Electric plant & vans
Charge e-excavators, telehandlers and site vans from the same unit.
-
04
Tools & temporary lighting
100 kW industrial sockets for tools, pumps and tower lights.

FAQ
Questions from construction teams.
Can’t see your question? Our engineers answer within one working day.
Can the system move with us between project phases?
Yes. iTrailer and iMBase are built to be towed or lifted between areas of a site, or on to the next project. Nothing is trenched or fixed in place.
Do we still need a generator?
Many sites keep a smaller generator as a backup charging source. It runs for short periods at full efficiency to top the battery up, instead of idling all day. Sites with a grid supply often remove it entirely.
Will it run a tower crane?
Cranes have short, high peaks and a low average draw, which suits battery storage well. We size the unit from your crane’s rating and lift profile during the site assessment.
How do we know when it needs charging?
Each unit reports state of charge and alarms over 4G, so your site team and our engineers see the same live data and get alerts before power runs low.
